This conference brings together K-12 educators and university researchers with a common interest in applying research-based methods from psychology and neuroscience to their practice.

Patrice Bain, Ed.S. K–12 + university educator, speaker. Co-author of the U.S. Department of Education’s Guide: Organizing Instruction and Study to Improve Student Learning and Powerful Teaching: Unleash the Science of Learning. Author of A Parent’s Guide to Powerful Teaching, and the Powerful Classrooms: Evidence-informed Strategies and Resources. IllinoisTeacher of the Year Finalist, Fulbright Scholar in Europe, featured in international podcasts, webinars, presentations and popular press, including NOVA and Scientific American. Bain contributed to the United Nations UNESCO International Science and Evidence-based Education Assessment, outlining the vision for world education by 2030.

Continuing Education Credit Options: 

  • Option A: Certificate of Completion for 7.5 clock hours: FREE
  • Option B: University re-licensure credit for 0.5 credit hours for attending all sessions and completing a one-page written reflection about a brain-based strategy suggested by a conference presenter that you implement and evaluate after implementation. Registration coming soon
