researchED Canberra is simply about bringing educators, leaders, and researchers together to look at what the evidence says and how it might work in our local schools.

A Focus on Evidence

We know that navigating educational research can be a lot to manage alongside a full teaching load. These sessions, curated by researchED Australia, are designed to be thoughtful, evidence-aligned, and most importantly useful. Whether you’re in the classroom or leading a school, it’s an opportunity to step back and reflect on the “why” and “how” of our practice.

Points of Discussion for 2026:

  • Literacy & Numeracy: Looking at the foundations of effective Reading and Writing instruction.
  • The Science of Learning: Discussing how cognitive science translates to classroom routines.
  • A Kindergarten – Year 12 Focus: Strategies suited for early childhood through to secondary contexts.
  • Leadership & Change: Thinking about how to make school-wide change sustainable.
  • MTSS & Support: Considerations for tiered intervention and targeted instruction.

The Logistics:

  • Where: University of Canberra, Building 2, Bruce, ACT.
  • For Whom: Anyone involved in the school community, teachers, leaders, coaches, and researchers.
  • The Vibe: low-key, high-impact, and centered on professional collaboration.
