What is expert school leadership and how might we develop it?

The narrative around school leadership is often dominated by ideas from the field of generic leadership such as vision, change and personal traits, influenced heavily by the theory of transformational leadership. In this session Tom and Jen will ask you to consider the work of school leaders from a different perspective, exploring domain-specific expertise and asking what problems school leaders are trying to solve and what knowledge they need to respond effectively to these challenges.
