More teachers should have a podcast!
As two teachers teaching in different schools and at different grade levels in the school system we are unusual collaborators. After three years and more than 120 episodes of the podcast Skolsverige, we are convinced that teachers have much to learn from each other. At researchED we will talk about what we have learned, the benefits of collaboration between teachers across grade levels and why more teachers should use podcasts as a platform for their professional learning and development.
Jacob Möllstam is a primary school teacher and project manager at the municipality of Partille with a focus on developing strategies on how to teach digital skills and literacies. He has been widely recognized and won numerous awards in connection to education, technology and 21st century skills.
Karin Berg, teacher of Swedish and Religion, holds a position as Advanced Teacher at Schillerska Gymnasiet in Gothenburg, assigned to lead the school’s development work: “I love to teach. I need to develope. I dream of an school organisation where teaching developes every day. This is why I founded the think tank Skolsmedjan, air the podcast Skolsverige and write chronicles in the magazine Skolporten. And of course, this is why I teach at Schillerska gymnasiet in Gotenburg”.
