Supporting teachers to develop structured teaching strategies

Based on almost 700 classroom observations in primary and secondary school, one of our conclusions is that teachers who need to develop their didactic skills and leadership skills can be helped by using structured teaching strategies. Our conclusion is also confirmed in our coaching conversations. Teachers we meet state that they need support with forms for structured teaching strategies in order to achieve a peaceful and respectful classroom environment. They mention problems like classroom noise, turn-taking in conversations and students that do not take responsibility for their studies. This has led us to introduce Cooperative Learning addressing these issues over time.
