The ability to think deeply about ideas depends on us having enough to think with. Careful curriculum design aims to develop the kind of sophisticated schema that enable critical thinking. It involves understanding the knowledge is nested; some more complex concepts are only comprehensible if we already understand certain precursor concepts.Using the example of sustainability, this session will unpick what else needs to be understood before we can expect anyone be be able to think in a deep way about this concept.
